Here is a small sampling of the services we have provided to clients over the years.
The Women’s Movement at Turnaround Tuesday
The mission of Turnaround Tuesday is to prepare, train, and connect ‘returning,’ unemployed, and underemployed citizens to living wage jobs and to build a vibrant public life. The Women’s Movement is focused on supporting women as they navigate this signification period of transition in their lives. Dr. Russell has provided consultation to leaders of the organization and created training workshops for the organization’s annual conference. Topics included disrupting adultification bias, managing transition, and transformation.
California Resource and Referral Network
Dr. Russell has provided professional learning to providers in the California Resource and Referral Network, using a train-the-trainer model to increase the team’s capacity to carry knowledge back to their individual organizations. The training modules have been focused on topics such as dismantling racism and promoting family engagement. One participant, when asked, said of their training day, “Wonderful, I did love this day with Dr. Nicol Russell. She gave us some good information as well as some uncomfortable conversations that need to happen.”
BANANAS
BANANAS has been supporting families in their parenting journey since 1974 working in partnership with early education providers. Their programs and services include assisting families find and pay for quality child care, parenting workshops, playgroups and professional development for all types of early care and education providers. Dr. Russell has provided numerous workshops to providers in the BANANAS network, each focused on developing a social justice lens and developing anti-bias practices when providing services to children and families.
